Volcano’s In Detail

  • After breakfast at 7:00 am, we will be transported to the foot of the majestic Lonquimay Volcano. With our skiing equipment ready, we will embark on a 4-hour ski tour, facing the challenge of the 1,400 meters of elevation gain that the volcano presents. As we ascend, we will be rewarded with breathtaking views of neighboring volcanoes, including the imposing Tolhuaca.

But the real thrill comes after all the hard work. We will ski down from the summit of the volcano. Once reaching the base, our transportation will be waiting to take us back to the accommodation. There, we can recharge our energy with a delicious dinner and prepare for the next day's adventure on the snow-covered slopes.

    • Elevation gain: 1,400 meters

    • Lodging: Hotel

    • Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

  • After a hearty breakfast at 6:00 am, we will embark on a one-hour journey to the Llaima Volcano, our next skiing destination. From the base, nestled in the quaint Araucarias ski resort, we will begin our arduous climb toward the summit. This day will test our endurance as we ascend for 4 to 6 hours, but the breathtaking reward awaits us at the highest point of the Conguillio National Park. We'll be treated to stunning views of the lagoons and ancient araucarias that blanket the terrain.

Our descent will be a thrilling ride down slopes with a steep inclination of 35-40 degrees, followed by smoother slopes until we reach our transportation. Back at the accommodation, we'll enjoy a much-needed rest and a scrumptious dinner to recharge our batteries.

    • Elevation gain: 2,000 meters

    • Lodging: Hotel

    • Meals: Breakfast, box lunch, dinner

    • Approximate duration of activity: 7-8 hours approx.

  • The snow adventure continues! At 6:30 am, we will begin our day with a breakfast, before heading off on a short 30-minute journey to our next destination, the majestic Villarrica Volcano, towering at a whopping 2,847 meters above sea level.

Once we reach the base, we'll gear up and begin the challenging ascent of 1,600 meters, which will take us between 4 and 5 hours. As we ascend, we'll traverse the Pillan Ski Resort, catching impressive views of Lake Villarrica, which will accompany us throughout the entire journey until we reach the crater of the volcano.

At the summit, we will observe the billowing clouds of gas and water vapor that emanate from the depths of the crater. With a little luck, we may even catch a glimpse of the lava, all while enjoying a panoramic view that includes the Quetrupillán and Lanín volcanoes.

We'll strap on our skis and take on the exhilarating 35-degree incline slopes, carving our way down to the gentler slopes that will lead us back to our transportation. As the sun sets, we'll head back to the accommodation in Pucón, where we'll have time to unwind, plan for the next leg of our journey, and enjoy a warm dinner.

Once we reach the base of the volcano, in the Huilo-Huilo Reserve, we'll begin the ascent through the forest, taking in the natural wonders that surround us, until we reach the fourth summit on our volcanic odyssey. There, we'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama that showcases the towering Mocho Volcano and its formidable neighbor, the Choshuenco Volcano,

After relishing in the stunning views, we'll organize our descent, navigating through moderately inclined paths of around 30 degrees, until we reach the tranquil haven of the forest floor. Our home for the night is nestled in the vicinity of the Huilo-Huilo Reserve, where we'll gather and share stories over a delicious dinner.

As we reach the base, we’ll gear up to start the ascent, marveling at the picturesque Lake Llanquihue. To reach the summit of the volcano, we’ll cross the glacier and navigate around colossal ice blocks. From the top, we will be able to appreciate the beauty of Lake Todos los Santos, the meandering Petrohue River, and other volcanoes such as Puntiagudo, Puyehue, Calbuco, and the giant Monte Tronador.

Later, we'll chart our course for the heart-racing descent, carving our way through the initial slopes that boast an incline of up to 45 degrees. As we gradually glide down the mountain, the gradient will ease, leading us to gentler slopes that will seemingly take us right to the shores of Lake Llanquihue.
